Sushi in Queens:
Ive read the posts but none of the recommendations come the slightest bit close to a mid-level sushi joint across the bridge. Is there not 1 decent sushi joint in queens? I mean I called eleven recommended sushi places around queens last and received ten, "Sorry no toro tonight" (as if they have it on any other night) and one very frank and polite response from a recommended place called MICKEY'S: "We dont carry toro because our customers wouldnt pay that kind of price for sashimi. And, by the way, I dont know of any sushi restaurant in queens that ever has high quality toro. Its just too expensive."

I asked about Japanese crab, eel, ANYTHING besides tuna, salmon, yellowtail (some were "out" of hamachi) and shrimp.
Nothing. Just the standard sushi you can find in Idaho or Butte for crissake.

Dont get me wrong, Im NOT looking for Kuruma or Nobu. Just a nice neighborhoody type of sushi joint in Queens that has (at least) decent toro.
