Surprisingly Decent Pizza

I really wanted pizza last night, but I still haven't found a place in my neighborhood (Pasadena) that is particularly inspiring.

I've tried Domenico's, which is OK, but not all that exciting. I prefer something a little thinner.

Same with Tarantino's. A little too puffy for my taste; also, I found the sauce a bit bland.

Wanted to try Tony's in San Marino, which has gotten positive press here, but it's closed on Monday.

So, I wound up getting something from one of those places that leaves menus on your front door. The wait for delivery was going to be 35-40 minutes, so I decided to just pick it up since it was less than 1/2 mile from my house. I wound up with a surprisingly decent pizza from Big Mama & Papa's Pizzeria, on Colorado near Allen. It had a thin crust, nice tangy sauce, and just the right amount of cheese. I got 1/2 cheese, 1/2 italian sausage. I wound up eating the entire 13" pie.

Just a little storefront on Colorado. It's so new that their Web site still doesn't even list this location, but it's an even-numbered address in the 1700 block of Colorado.

Not as good as Nicky D's in my old neighborhood, but better (in my recollection) than Hard Times, for a point of reference.
