Since I am constitutionally unable to resist the opportunity to volunteer when needed, DH & I will be hosting four visiting harpists who are in town for a concert. The other ten will be housed elsewhere - Thank God!
I've offered to provide supper before a 7PM concert for the fourteen harpists and now realize that I've bitten off more than I bargained for.
First: the harpists are college-aged females which tells me there will probably be some weight/no-fat issues.
Second: some are likely to be vegetarian as well, although maybe we'll get lucky and they'll be the pesco-pollo-ovo-lacto-Haagendazo-vegetarian type who simply don't eat huge chunks of red meat. Won't know until the meal is served, so I'll err on the side of caution.
Third: they will be arriving in "Concert Clothes" so nothing really drippy that could mar appearances.
Fourth: buffet-type service is a must - I cannot seat fourteen for dining and have a sneaky suspicion that many of the other hosts will appear as well.
There are undoubtedly more stipulations, but I don't want to scare off the desperately needed CH help.
OK, hounds, please give me your best ideas.
