Went back a couple of weeks and didn't see anything from the usual North Bayites, so...the folks at Gayle's Superburger on 4th in Santa Rosa sold out a few weeks ago to retire (also told they're selling their house and moving out of state) and a new owner is running Superburger -- very successfully, I must say.
Beef is freshly ground, hand formed patties, and the burgers rate *Five Napkins* on my scale (a burger only needing one napkin isn't worth the trouble). Had a half pound "Kingburger" which arrived nice and pink, as ordered...the owner, Bill, asked how I wanted it cooked.
Good and juicy, now served with freshly sliced red onion and a slice of red tomato. Minor quibbles about the fries arriving with a tad too much oil, but Bill said he's still trying to figure out best to equip the tiny grill/fryer area to include appropriate area to drain deep fried items before serving.
The thick patty, ripe tomato and good vibes made for a delicious burger...better than Taylor's in my mind, and I live in St. Helena.
The shakes/malts are still freshly made, additional menu items (grilled chicken sandwiches, cole slaw, etc.) and fresh Meyer lemonaide (and 'bottomless' soft drinks) add up to a strong recommendation.
