Sunday dinner @ JK Wine Bar

My SO and I had a lovely belated birthday celebration this evening at JK Wine Bar. Good service, above average food, comfortable surroundings, and good value for money.

The highlights of tonight’s delights:

Goat cheese tart with black olives, caramelized onions and anchovies - this was so tasty my SO said I need to try to replicate the dish at home.

Beef cheek poutine - nothing says comfort food quite like JK poutine.

Black cod with fingerling potatoes and Yorkshire pork belly - YUM YUM YUM.

Wild shrimp with orzo paste in a fresh tomato sauce.

Entrecote of beef with mushroom polenta served a perfect medium rare.

Moroccan lamb stew with couscous.

The excellent value cheese plate - five great Canadian cheese with walnuts, grapes, apple and fig for $12 Can you believe it???

I ended the evening with a PERFECT vanilla bean cream brulee. The SO has one of the new dessert items – chocolate banana tart. If you are a banana fan you’ll love this new edition.

We had two bottles of water and two cappuccinos as well and our bill before tip was $130.

Thank you JK for yet again another lovely dining experience.
