Sun Sets on Belltown

Jim Wong | Sep 11, 200011:20 AM     1

Just to warn you folks, your beloved Belltown (which I refered to as a "depressed area" in a prior post) is now Mugging Central. There is a gang of red-shirted skinheads roaming the area, and 8 or 9 people have been viciously attacked in the last 5 days.

I have been warned not to leave my apartment after dark...although the latest attack was mid-afternoon anyways. Guy got his face sliced up pretty bad less than a block from a police station.

I wonder what kind of a hit all those outdoor cafes are taking over this? I am definitely rethinking my midnight walks to the supermarket (Queen Anne), let alone lingering on some sidewalk for a 2 hour meal.
