One of my favorite refreshments on a warm summer day is a zingy, fruit flavored ice-cold shrub. Even better if it's sparkling and made with organic ingredients as Summermade's are. A couple years ago I met Liz and Chris, then neighbors of a close. Fast forward to last month, and I stumble across them doing a tasting of their sparkling shrubs.

Strawberry-mint, Ginger or Grapefruit-Rosemary flavor . . . I enjoyed them all as soft drink coolers with minimal sweetness. Also think about using them as mixers, because what is a mixer anyway but fruit flavor, acid and sugar? The grapefruit + vodka or gin would make a fine Greyhound cocktail.
