Went to Bouchon on Saturday July 10th looking forward to dinner as the restaurant has had some pretty good reviews (James Chatto). When we arrived, the hostess informed us that the reservation had been cancelled--utterly false. The staff were entirely unapologetic! As the restaurant was completely booked, we were forced to have dinner at the bar. As I'd been looking forward to the evening, I was very disappointed. Oddly enough, we encountered another pair whose reservation had also been "cancelled." The experience itself was merely passable. Goat cheese tart, served cold, would have benefited from heating. Salmon and scallops in a lobster sauce were okay. The dessert of appropriately sour lemon tart was the highpoint.
