Out of touch, I guess. Made a brief visit to the City (thankfully MUCH cooler than the Valley). Went to Sultan's old location in the Mark Twain but apparently moving northeast about a block next to the Naan and Curry north of the Hilton. Doesn't look too promising yet. But a new sign is hung up above the store front.

So had to make a quick decision and had a pretty darn good meal at the cooks counter in Kuleto's. The real stand out for us was the ricotta stuffed rolled eggplant in a spicy marinara sauce that the one bilingual cook said had jalapeno in it- would not have guessed that. It's a fun place to sit and watch when those guys get busy.

After SFMOMA went to Fringale for lunch. They still deliver the goods with their somewhat French influenced Cal cuisine. Nothing trend setting but solid food and service as always and some lunch time parking may be found. And, of course, K&L is so close... Sorry, dear, it's so close I just HAVE to go.
