Probably my favorite food is wonton soup. Ask me why, I know not--Ask me what type, ill tell you:
I love big cloudy wontons filled with finely ground shrimp, pork, scallions, and ginger. Brothwise I like gingery, subtle tasting clear broths.
All I can find so far is either: round Honk Kong style dumplings not much like wontons, or cheap tiny wontons filled with nothing but grainy ground pork (like at U-Lee or Mee's).
So far the best I found is at Sun Kunk on Geary, filled with ginger and spinach. Great. Expensive though.
Any other suggestions? I feel a cold coming on...
