Suggestions for good boring food - I'm desperate!

I know this is an odd request. I'm planning a company dinner for 12-16 people and have a wide range of taste buds to entertain. Something in SF, around SOMA/Market/Van Ness/Broadway/Ghiradelli area will work, and preferrably coming in at around $30-40/head.

All my favorite places are too "out there" for half the boring people in my party. Don't even think of having fois gras or tartar-anything on the menu. Oh, and must have a decent bar for my sanity.

I can hear the comments as I scroll through my mental roladex:
- Slanted Door - Very interesting, is this place "Asian"?
- Myth - uhh, what are creme fraiche and haricots verts...?
- Da Flora - eeew, they have rabbit on the menu...

Help! Any suggestions for a place that has safe chicken, steak, maybe fish dishes, good bread, good appetizers, a good caesar's salad, and a decent atmosphere?

Thank you and my boss thanks you!
