Substitute for butterscotch pudding in monkey bread?

needcoffee | Dec 24, 201410:36 AM     13

I'm making monkey bread for someone who grew up on the butterscotch pudding recipe and can no longer have the pudding due to a food allergy. I was wondering if there is anything I could do to get a similar flavor. I know I could just make the brown sugar and butter version, but I would like to make something as close as possible to the other recipe because it has been such an important tradition for this person. Thanks.
