StudioKitchen: 2 seats available for dinner on Mon Nov 25th

The Man with No Name | Nov 23, 2002 12:33 PM

Greetings,

We have one couple that dropped out at the last minute
for medical reasons and that means there are 2 seats
available. This is for StudioKitchen dinner that will
take place on Monday November 25th @ 7:30 pm. That would be this Monday and given the amount of organization and planning that took place this is the chance of your lifetime.

Our menu is

soymilk soup with scallop ravioli and miso

Foie gras terrine with curly endive salad, pear
compote and loupiac sauce

Roast lamb rack with parsnip puree, stonefruit chutney
and basil vinaigrette

Brie and lemon soup with slow roasted pineapple ,
lemon mosto Oil and celery
leaves.

After consulting a knowledgeable sommelier we came up
with the wine list and her suggestions were on par
with Shola's zaniness: sake to go with miso/soymilk
soup, Sauternes with foie gras, Pinot Noir or a good
red with lamb and an Italian sparkler (Moscato d'Asti
or its better known relative Asti Spumanti) for
brie/pear dessert.

We agreed to have each person bring a 750ml bottle of
wine (or sake as the case may be) in $20-30 range. The
couple who dropped out were bringing 2 bottles of
sparklers per above suggestion.

If you want to taste Shola's soymilk you have to

1) reply via email by the end of the day and
2) procure a bottle of sparkling wine per above suggestion (can be more than one if less than 750ml with the total cost not exceeding $20-30).

I'll give preference to 2 backups who were in the running at the time of my first post to Chowhound, then to friends of the current group and then to readers of this message board with the
constraint being the speed of the reply. The
preference mechanism will be in force for the
remainder of the day -- first come, first served
tomorrow.

Alex
