Went to Striper Bites in Lewes for dinner and lunch last weekend and both meals were a hit. This is a laid-back place with a nautical theme, a bar, and booths and tables inside and out on the main drag.

For dinner I started with a cream of crab soup. This was excellent and as it should be with plenty of sweet crab. For an entree I got linguine tossed with fresh tomatoes, shrimp and scallops. It was a very simple preparation that was just plain ole good and a huge portion too -- it was actually enough for two to share. My friend got the Caesar salad to start. For restaurant Caesar it was pretty good if heavy on the garlic. For a main she got penne pasta in a tomato cream sauce topped with seared tuna. That was excellent too and again plenty to share, especially if you get an appetizer or salad like we did. We shared a nice 5 Rivers Pinot Noir, which we both loved and which paired well with what we both ordered. Total bill including tip (no tax!) was $85, which we felt was quite reasonable for what we had. So much for a low carb dinner. Entrees averaged $20 and the wine list included some decent values.

We went back for lunch Sunday afternoon. We both got their "signature" sandwich: a blackened mahi mahi BLT on sourdough bread with maple cured bacon, garden fresh tomatoes, and Caesar dressing. This sandwich was to die for. I could eat it every day. The fish was fresh, the bread was excellent, and there was just the right amount of seasoning. The sandwich comes with your choice of fries or coleslaw. The fries were fresh cut and very very good. The coleslaw was good too and not too sweet. Lunch for two including tip with one club soda and one water was $26. A total deal for what we got.
