Strip T's.. lots of good, one big flub

My wife and I ate with our toddler at Strip-T's Wednesday night.. dining area was full, and with a kid, a two top is tough to accomodate, but they sat us at the counter.. service was very good there, and having the open space was probably better for the boy and potential surrounding diners.

Wife and I both got a small plate and a large. I had the grilled octopus - very good, and the grilled kielbasa, also very good, although I wish the mustardy aspect was a bit stronger.. minor point.

Wife got the eggplant bahn mi, which I was very impressed with - a nice take on the dish, with complex flavors.

She also order the mussels and fries, and this is the one crappy point of the night. Mussels were cooked well, sauce was very flavorful, but the fries were horrid - way too dry, no fluff inside, and not really that hot.. My wife categorized it as some of the worst fries she's had in a while (although I think her expectations might have been raised by the tastiness of the meal to that point.)

So if they can just get their fryolater timing a bit better, I'd give them a thumbs up..

I miss the Temple Bar pommes frites from a few years back..
