strawberries in Sonoma and fresh eggs, too

Cynthia | Apr 26, 2005 08:13 AM

-just in time for Mother's Day, the strawberries are peaking at the patch in Sonoma- on Watmaugh Road near Arnold Drive. You can't miss it, it's a white roadside stand in the middle of the field. The strawberries are ripe now - sweet, red with chin-dripping juice, and fragrant.
-searching for fresh eggs? If you drive from Glen Ellen on Warm Springs Road, turn left at Bennett Valley Road, pass Keiser Valley Road - watch for the egg sign in the driveway on the left side of Bennett Valley Rd., drive behind the house, the fresh eggs are in the refrigerator in the garage - small blue and brown-shelled eggs with BRIGHT orange yolks that taste like the eggs in Mexico. $2 doz. There are tiny downy goslings on the pond now. Must be springtime.
