In a nutshell, ok food but overpriced. We were sad to see Wazuri on 18th Steet go, but heard that straits in its former location was excellent, so we tried it. The 5-spice beef roll appetizer(sliced round pieces of ground seasoned beef, wrapped in deep-fried tofu skin with a sweet soy ginger dipping sauce), $5.95, was disappointing. The nasi goreng (fried rice with vegetables and chicken) and char keoy taow (sp? fried wide noodles like chow fun stir fried with vegetables, chili sauce and chicken)at $11.95 and $13.95 respectively, were overpriced. We have had better, less expensive and less greasy thai and malaysian take-out from penang.
on the positive side, the portions are not skimpy and the dishes are served in mini-metal woks that are placed on top of what we thought was just a table centerpiece or ashtray. the rooftop dining is quite nice in the summer, and there's decent house wine for $4.95/glass. complimentary puffed shrimp chips with refills.
