I bought a Cameron Stove-top Smoker months ago. I can't seem to get excited enough to really try it out. Frankly I think I'm chicken. The first time I used it the wood chips set off the smoke detector and I became cautious. Steve Reichlin recommends it for a variety of purposes but I want to know someone who actually tried this out in various ways. Have you smoked something stove-top for a brief period then let it smoke further in the oven for several hours more? This was a recipe I got online and I worry about safety.
Please tell me about your favorite things to smoke and any failures, too. I promise to report on whatever I get the guts to try-out.
