After reading the success that everyone seemed to have with storing strawberries in clean glass jars in the fridge I decided to try it as we always have strawberries and they seem to go bad by the time I get to the 2nd package. I used a clean jar that I had run the the dishwasher. The strawberries were fresh and I picked through them to make sure no bruised strawberries went into the jar. The berries themselves were unwashed. Two weeks later when I went to use the berries they were beautiful-looked fresh, juicy and still crisp, however they had a very odd fermented flavor. The flavor so strong that we ended up throwing out the berries. Where did I go wrong? Any suggestions? Thanks!!!
