Storing onions in a warm house

helendolan | Mar 24, 201911:10 PM     18

Hi, I just read some old posts and I too have nowhere in our extremely warm house and garage in the summer to put potatoes and especially onions. I have read ad nauseum about not putting onions in the fridge but I don't have any other ideas!! Do they really go soft and mushy? I've kept them in the fridge for a couple of days and haven't noticed any change, but never any longer than that. What about in a not very cold fridge, loosely wrapped in newspaper in the crisper section? Help!!
