Storing Mussels - repackage?

michaeljc70 | Jun 4, 202101:55 PM     10

I was at Costco today and they had the big bag of mussels for $2.29/lb. I usually don't buy them if I can't use them in a day or two. However, I noticed the sell by date was 9 days out so I bought them. I normally rinse them when I get home and put them in a bowl and cover them with a damp towel. However, since the sell by date is so far out I am wondering if changing the packaging is even needed.

They came in a mesh bag on a foam plate with plastic wrap over it all with a few holes in it. I plan to use them in the next 3 days.
