Just visited the Miami area. Had stone crabs at Joes the mediums. I wasn't that impressed with the flavor that seemed downright flat. The most flavor was from the elbows. My friend said that they may be getting close to the end of the season, and that they were supposed to be sweet and very tasty. What is the take on season for stone crab peak season?
Must say I enjoyed the cuban food. One week of roasted pork dishes, pigs feet, hams, loins, soup with pork all very homey and tasty. lots of cuban coffee. Also a great fruit salad from a place on the way to the gator farm, airboat ride at around 127th, they also have a store around 57th sorry for the vague directions but if you live there you would know. Also it was reported that the Sonesta on Key Biscayne had a great seafood buffet on fridays. Comments.
