I tried Stevia about six months ago and just a little in my morning coffee left me with a bad taste in my mouth for hours. I just drank part of a Vitamin Water Zero that is apparently also partly sweetened with Stevia and it's bad. Really bad. I tried watering it down with half water, half Vitamin Water and nothing I did can cut the nasty aftertaste.
I know some people use Stevia with no problem and I am beginning to wonder if my aversion to it is anything like my distaste for cilantro. Not that they're directly related, but with cilantro, I've read that there is some genetic component in why it tastes like soap to me - and other people love it.
Does Stevia have that bad taste for everyone, regardless of the quantity of the stuff or do some people not notice it? And if that's the case, does anyone know why?
