Stellar Alaskan King Crab at Elite

Porthos | Jan 29, 2010 08:19 PM

Dropped by Elite for dinner tonight. Wanted to do Sea Harbour but they didn't have king crab tonight. FYI. Elite charges $42/lb and Sea Harbour charges $49/lb for the king crab.

We had

Simmered Abalone soup- delicious and quite reasonable at $48 for a medium serving which serves 10 easy. We were 5 and I had at least 4 servings. As much as I enjoy Sea Harbour's many wonderful simmered soups, I liked this version over any of Sea Harbours.

King Crab 2 taste- 6lbs, very fresh, prepared 2 ways. Legs steamed with garlic, body sauteed with ginger and scallions. Excellent quality, very sweet and intoxicating stuff. Just a half notch below Koi Palace in SF.

Boiled Chicken- decent, Sea Harbour's version is better

Sauteed pea shoots

3 cups frog legs- excellent. Highly recommended

Veal french style- like bo loc lac but with veal and snap peas. Very good.

A wonderful meal overall. The highlights being the King Crab and the simmered Abalone soup.
