For folks like myself who cannot tolerate aged beef, finding a decent steak house is a problem. Went to Tre Dici Steak in Chelsea the other night, and had a very pleasant experience. The steak, a New York strip, was fine. Medium well as requested, nicely charred, and tasty. Not as memorable perhaps as aged meat, but given my inability to have aged protein, quite a treat.
My wife had a nifty rib eye. My kid loved the Kobe beef ravioli. The sides were just ok, except the spinach, mixed with moscarpone, and the onion rings which were exceptionally light and tasty.
The place is dark and luxe, and somewhat hidden (it's next door to the Italian restaurant Tre Dici and on the second floor).
By the way, the price was right too...steaks were about $10 cheaper than their aged cousins.
I'll be back to this one.
