Starch / Sides for Roasted Duck with Port and Sour Cherry Sauce?

I'm roasting a duck (first time) for Christmas. I usually do a beef main and my once a year potatoes (scalloped with heavy cream and butter). But somehow this doesn't feel right for duck. Am I wrong? I'll probably do roasted asparagus but I need a starch. Any suggestions?
