Has anyone had the Southern Curry at Sriprahphai?
I was there recently and was going to order it,
but the waitress strongly discouraged me from doing
so, saying that it was extremely hot, having peppers,
chili oil, etc. From what she was saying it sounded like the spiciness in this dish cannot
be controlled for individual tastes, whereas
Now, I do like very spicy food, but from the
way she reacted I thought better of it and wound up having the penang curry with pork.
But I'm curious - just how hot would the southern
curry be? I've had the jungle curry, and ordered
it spicy. It was indeed spicy - caused me to sweat
a bit, but was very enjoyable. Would southern
curry be even hotter? Are we talking pain here?
Or perhaps the waitress was being over-protective?
