I recently moved from Arlington to Springfield and thought I would provide some updated reviews of local spots we have tried since moving in a few weeks ago.

Golden Hong Kong Chinese---located next to the Trader Joe's. This place has some of the best Cantonese style Chinese food I have had anywhere in the DMV. So far we have ordered takeout a few times and everything has ranged from good to great. Hot & sour soup, BBQ roast pork platter, salt and pepper shrimp, combo lo mein, and shrimp and lobster sauce have all been solid choices. Their menu contains lots of more interesting options which I will make my way through over the years. Very happy to have this very close to our new home.

Cocorico---Peruvian chicken spot. Very solid. Papusas are not worth ordering but the chicken and sides were all solid. Perhaps a notch below El Pollo Rico but still on the upper end of Peruvian chicken places in northern Virginia.

Elenai's Greek Taverna--- Went here for dinner. Pretty disappointed. We ordered a lot of food for three people. Portions were all large. Hummus and pita were good, zucchini fritters were good but not great. Greek chicken salad was fine but no more. The tour of Greece combo was disappointing. Nothing was more than mediocre. Everything tasted old and reheated. Everything was luke warm temperature. The stuffed grape leaf dinner was also just ok and felt reheated. We also had the greek lemon chicken soup and the new england clam chowder. Both soups were gloppy, room temperature, and not very good. I might only come back to try their breakfast. I won't be back for dinner.

Manilla Oriental Market---just picked up halo halo, which were great. Checked out the steam table and will definitely be back to try their lunch/dinner options.

The Block--- A food hall located in Annandale. Had a delicious pokebowl from Pokeworks as well as mediocre fish balls in curry sauce and salt and pepper chicken wings from Balo Kitchen. Also had an excellent coconut ash ice cream in an ube cone from Munche Icecream. I will def be back to try the Roots Thai Kitchen as well as eat more ice cream and poke.

Bob and Edith's Diner---Don't get the hype. Don't see how they have multiple locations. Ordered a cheeseburger which was overcooked and tasteless. Fries were too well done. Wife's egg sandwich was greasy and her hashbrowns were soggy. Will probably never be back.
