I know many Chowhounds grew up in households stocked with Spice Islands brand spices in the kitchen, and with many favourite dishes owing their unique flavour to Spice Islands spice blends, like Beau Monde, Bouquet Garni, Fines Herbs, Mei Yin and the very popular Spice Islands Spaghetti Sauce Seasoning.
After having been acquired by Specialty Brands in 1970, which was then bought (and sold) over the years by the UK's United Bisquit, Australia's Burns Philp and Associated British Foods ACH group, the Spice Islands brand is now owned and distributed by B&G Foods, and is still manufacturing high quality spices and some of its classic, unique spice blends, like Fines Herbs and Beau Monde. The previous owners of the Spice Islands brand got tired of getting requests for the discontinued Bouquet Garni, Mei Yin and Spaghetti Sauce Seasoning, and rather than taking the hint and re-launching those unique blends, they made the formulations public. I'll post those formulations below.
Spice Islands spices are distributed throughout the United States once again, and are also available by mail order.
