Spice Cafe

So I finally got the chance to check out Spice Cafe (4 Temperance Street....right at Yonge south of Queen).

I quite enjoyed myself as did my guest. The owners are both nutritionists and therefore, do their best to keep the meals balanced and healthy.

We started out with a small fruit salad made up of pomegranate seeds, tiny pieces of orange, pear, and apple sprinkled with nutmeg (I think) and a tiny bit of cayenne. Sounds strange, but it worked.

We had a sampler platter that included their butterless butter chicken, beef korma, raita, broccoli and sweet potato stew, basmati rice, and a chickpea dish of which I can't remember the name. Except for the fact that the broccoli and sweet potatoes were a tad over done, all the dishes were excellent. I had a very happy mouth while I was eating.

For the two of us, with two chai teas, tip and taxes, it worked out to less than $20.

I highly recommend this place. Please go so it will stay open. It is relatively new and tiny, but so wonderful.

Peace,
Happybelly
