I'm looking for a venue for a celebratory dinner for 9 people in May, preferably in lower Manhattan (say, below 23rd St). I'm willing to go as high as $125/pp including a few bottles of wine for the table.
Most people will be traveling from out of town, so I'd like to offer a unique New York City experience where the food is also noteworthy. I'm not necessarily interested in fine dining which can be stuffy, but instead want the dinner to be delicious, festive, and fun.
Some ideas I've had include:
Bo ssam at Ssam Bar (though I'm a little worried that we won't be physically comfortable there)
As far as cuisines go, we are pretty open and flexible. There are a few guests who don't eat seafood, but otherwise it's a pretty adventurous bunch.
I'd love to hear your suggestions!
