Special Instant Ginger "Tea" Only at Sun Sun

opinionatedchef | Jan 1, 201511:31 PM     11

This product contains only Ginger and rock sugar. No tea leaves. (But it can easily be added to leaf teas.)
I have been working on finding inexpensive quick beverages that have no caffeine and no carbonation.Don't know if any of you have been looking for same.
I had a box of this from Sun Sun, loved it, and then spent a lot of time not finding it anywhere but Amazon, where its cost was ~10 fold. (tried China Merchandise, H Mart.) So I've been ordering it through Sun Sun in Chinatown. About $2.90 for 10 packets; each makes 1 qt. and I drink about 3-4 qts a day, trying to keep hydrated. ( I tried 2 diff ginger/honey versions but really did not care for their sawdusty taste.)
The only drawback is that it contains sugar, but it would take much more effort (I know, I know, not rocket science) to steep ginger by itself......and it is not super sweet. I tried Ginger Juice from The Ginger People but I really did not like it, much to my complete surprise. Maybe it's o.k. in stir frys, but not with water.

"Goldwily Instant Ginger Tea (original)" in grass green rectangular box. Imported from Singapore.
There are confusing copycat brands so you have to check the ingredients before buying.
