So many interesting restaurants in Chicago---can you help narrow down the choices?
Looking for something for a special occasion, downtown or quite nearby. I'd be interested in places that might be roughly similar to Union Square Cafe in New York (that is, atmosphere and price point.......not necessarily Italian cuisine, though.) I'm aware of Green River, which seems to have a different style than USC........but still interested in all your thoughts. Thanks!
EDIT: Thanks for the comments, Gonzo, and I realize I could have said a little more......Typical price of an entree (tip included) is in the $30s or 40s. Putting the atmosphere of a place into words is hard, but I'm thinking of things like: hospitable, welcoming, nice but not stuffy. Trendy is not important. Food...creative, but doesn't need to be on the cutting edge of avant-garde. Kind of vague, but if that helps, great!
