Where to get soybeans for homemade tofu in Manhattan....

Hi folks,

I've decided to have a go at making my own tofu and natto (a collective shiver runs down the spines of a large percentage of you) and was wondering where to get my soybeans in Manhattan. Also, my recipes call for soaking dried soybeans. I'd guess that fresh soybeans would be best, but maybe I don't know something. Anyone have experience in this arena? Somewhere close to the L.E.S./Chinatown would be best, as would reasonable prices.... Yes, I know soybeans are cheaper than dirt, but I don't want to be getting them at a specialty grocery store or anything. Thanks!
