Help with a Southern Style Supper

SarahCW | Jan 5, 201510:21 AM     64

Hello awesome folks!
I appreciated the help on my last menu, so I thought I'd ask for help again. This time I need more help. In a week or so, I'm holding a birthday dinner for my sister-in-law, who is kind of a picky eater. She is always talking about her southern roots--though she has spent most of her life in the west, where we live--so I thought a southern style dinner would be fun. I could use some help developing a menu that fits her dietary requirements.

She can't eat pork or red meat, doesn't like beans or spicy food, and is lactose intolerant (though a little cheese or dairy is ok)

So far I'm planning on a turkey breast in the slow cooker--though with what seasoning I'm not sure. Cornbread. Also some type of greens. And chocolate cake for dessert.

Any southern style suggestions? Recipes welcome!
