Their is a gyro/sub shop in my town who's owner has certain reputation. If anyone tries to put ketchup on one of his cheese steaks he will take it away from you. I had always assumed this was a put on (I don't eat ketchup, so it's not an issue for me) but people had kind of scared my wife away from trying this place.
We went there today, and my wife got ketchup for her fries. Their is a sign up stating his feelings about ketchup (it's an insult to his cooking) and maybe three times he came by to ask us not to put ketchup on the subs.
I was wondering if anyone else has had an experience like this and what you think about it if you have... I was inclined to chalk it up to weirdness I would have to overlook in order to get at those divine, garlicky spicy subs, but it really upset my wife and a couple of my coworkers.
