Soul Food in New Haven

I was craving comfort food last night and decided to checkout Mama Mary's, a soul food restaurant at 372 Whalley Avenue in New Haven. It gets the thumbs up!

I ordered the fried catfish dinner with fried okra and macaroni and cheese for the sides. The catfish was fried perfectly and seasoned just right. The fried okra was served nice and hot. The corn bread was some of the best I have had in years. Maybe because it was drenched in butter. It was served really hot like it had just come out of the oven.

The mac and cheese was very good too but was served luke warm. It had just the right amount of cheese. Their lemonade was also really good.

Next time I go there, I want to try the fried chicken, pulled pork, and some of the other sides.
