Had lunch at this restaurant with the 'rents over the holidays. While I felt the food was hit or miss, with the appetizers way outshining the mains (the lentil beignets were great!) - the show stealer was the Sortilege eggnog.
If you're unfamiliar with Sortilege, it is a Quebecois alcoholic beverage made with maple syrup spirits and Canadian whiskey. It is fantastic and extremely rare to find in the US. By itself, it is one of my greatest pleasures in life. It can also be had at Kaya in their eggnog, lending a maple aftertaste to an already fantastic festive drink. Get down there while they have it in stock (our waiter said they frequently run out of the stuff for months at a time). Try it on the rocks, in coffee, or in their house eggnog - you'll love it.
Now why can't anyone here in NYC serve this stuff?
