I was driving through Sonoma yesterday, headed north on Hwy 12, and saw the "Sonoma Eats" sign, "Latin Fusion" and "Oaxacan Cuisine", which intrigued me enough to stop, especially because I saw they had an outside patio with tables. I ordered two tacos ($2.50 each), Asada and al Pastor. I was handed a platter with tortilla chips and salsa and told they would being me the tacos. The salsa was really good, and I finished all of it and the chips before I left. The tacos arrived and they were quite good, especially for $2.50.
When leaving, I asked about their Oaxacan food and they said the moles (and something else I can't remember) were Oaxacan. He pointed out that their daily special was chicken mole tamales, two for $12, and said they make their own masa for them. So I got an order to go. Wow, each one weighed 10 oz so one was enough for a meal. The mole sauce was dark, rich, and plentiful, and lots of chicken inside the wonderful masa.
This place opened six months ago (during a pandemic!) and has all the evidence of being a real gem. Check it out.
