Although I have previously sung the praises of this Five Town restaurant, I am now going on record to say I am no longer singing the same tune. Had dinner for four last night (family birthday) and was totally underwhelmed save for the chocolate dessert (ganache/flourless cake/type thing which was amazing)
Loin of pork was dry and boring ditto the roast "free-range" chicken (Murray's???); pumpkin soup, according to my easy-to-please partner, had "no taste;"my duck breast/confit combo was mundane (the confit was actually greasy with soggy skin). Only the osso buco special was close to the mark. This is too bad since this was for a short time the only oasis in a dim dining scene in the area. Dinner for four (half bottle wine) came to just over one hundred dollars so at least that was not painful. Does ANYONE know of a good (non-kosher) place in that area???? Or is good Five Towns dining still an oxymoron?????????? I suspect I aleady know the answer to this one!!
