A Soggy Experience at Water Grill

I guess we are in the minority, but we dined at Water Grill recently for my birthday and it was not at all what we were expecting. We are fish and seafood lovers and had wanted to try it for years as it's so highly rated. I was disappointed by the very short menu offerings for the evening, and nothing really leaped out at us except the oysters, which were good but nothing exceptional. The service was fine and the rest of the meal was decent, but the portions were ridiculously tiny for the prices charged, and we have healthy appetites. The meal was so unmemorable I can't even remember what we ordered, except that we had to order two desserts (which we never do) to get full. Perhaps the tasting menu is the way to go here, but we don't do those because my husband doesn't drink. I guess I was expecting a really upscale version of Ocean Seafood in S.M. or even King's Fish House in Long Beach (both of which we adore).
