Sociale: A Dish to Die For

As much as I love talking generally about restaurants, I particularly like it when I find a specific dish at a restaurant that is truly worthy of praise. There are obvious choices all over SF that have been (rightfully) discussed time and time again . . . Danko's lobster risotto, the roasted pork sandwich at Saigon, the spoonfuls of happiness at Koo, etc.

I think I found a new standout dish that I had to share with the group. Last night, we wandered into Spruce to try and sit at the bar without a reservation but that place is still blowing up like crazy so we couldn't even get a seat at 9:00 on a Tuesday. We meandered across the street to Sociale which was the scene of my discovery. If you have a chance, go to Sociale and try the Braised Pork with Potato Gnocchi dish. It's fairly new to the menu (or at least wasn't on the Fall menu). Soft pillows of heaven, perfectly braised pork. Try it and thank me later.
