Smoked salmon from Santa Monica Farmer's Market

I just bought a filet of smoked salmon from the fish booth at the Saturday FM on Arizona. Has anyone tried it? How have you served it? Is it ok to serve seared on outside, kind of like ahi tuna? Or is it better as a cold dish? Thanks for any suggestions.
