I've been pondering this for a while. Don't intend to raise any hackles but I must confess to true puzzlement about the popularity of Hopleaf. I know and appreciate the selection. There can be no argument whatsoever about that. HOWEVER, having been there twice now--once quite recently--I truly am at a loss to understand how one can drink comfortably there. There is a smoke haze, not only from the patrons but even from behind the bar. I sat next to one smoker and so moved. Only to have the guy near me decide it was time to light up as well. I find it exceedingly difficult to relax and enjoy my beer when there's smoke coming from everywhere. On my last visit, probably about half the crowd. But the woman behind the bar was what astonished me.
