A week ago we had a fantastic lunch at Small Plates, a relatively new place in Harvard Square, in the old Iruna space. The menu is all small plates, organized as cold and hot plates, with a sidebar of sharable picking plates. Not exactly tapas style, the flavors were lighter than that, but a similar concept of rich savory notes set in contrast to one another. Can't remember it all, but our meal included a super tasty warm mushroom plate, a vegetable napoleon based on eggplant, something with roasted red peppers, a pair of lollypop lambchops, and some cheese to finish. The two of us shared six plates, which made a satisfying but not gut-busting lunch. All great. Great wine selection too, lots of inexpensive choices good for pairing.
Who else has been there? Let's give them a little buzz and help make sure they stay open.
