Slope Scoop: New 'yakitori' joint going in old Olive Vine 6th Ave spot

The great 'original' Olive Vine location on Park Slope's Sixth Ave between Sterling & Park Place has sat vacant for many months. The owners told me that it would re-open as a Moroccan-themed restaurant, but "not-so" says the crew doing demolition today.

The folks that run NANA on 5th Ave have taken the lease and will serve "meat on skewers...you know, like yakitori" in the late-April, early-May timeframe.

I've missed that branch of Olive Vine, their garden, and their cool 'private room'. Anybody else go there or have a party / event there? Hope they keep it.

JOHN
