It was our first visit. We got a last minute reservation on Thursday 7/3 @ 6:00PM. We arrived 5:50 and were promptly seated.
Service was professional, attentive and friendly, no hassles. Wine (sparkling Gamay) was opend and poured properly (good wine service harder to find these days).
Veggie Imperial Rolls---good, not great, part of a piece was left unfilled.
Asparagus w/Chanterelles---pencil thin asparagus, crisp tender with a fairly salty sauce. 4-5 small mushrooms.
Glass noodles w/bean sprouts--blandly seasoned, slightly sweet. Bean sprouts retained some crunch.
Spicy eggplant---Spicy, yes. Undistinguished flavor, eggplant properly cooked into smallish strips.
Dessert---some pastry with berries and a small scoop of maple/ginger? ice cream. Forgetable.
I don't know that we'll go back soon. The veggie pricing is approachable, but portions are small and the food is not 2X better than my local Saigon City in San Mateo can do at 1/2 the price. The room is nice, but not unusually so. We were treated well, despite hearing horror stories of others.
It's not about pricing, it's about value.
