I stopped by Singh's Roti Shop last weekend after passing by it a few times. The food is West Indian (from Trinidad to be exact)...I ordered a chicken roti to go. I had never had a roti before so I didn't know what to expect, but it was very good.

The roti itself was pre-made and in a plastic bag. It was breadier than I had expected, but great for scooping up the sauces. The chicken was greasy and on the bone, sort of hard to eat. This went onto the roti along with two sidedishes (of my choice). I chose the potatoes and the spinach. Both were fantastic and spicy. Next time I am going to get a vegetarian roti (instead of the meat you choose two more vegetable options). Everything was wrapped up together with some hot sauce (I asked for just a bit, and it was quite hot).

Other filling options are chicken off the bone, goat, pork, beef and shrimp.

The roti I got cost 7 bucks and was huge. I realized after I had ordered that I was $1.50 short, but the man at the counter said it was okay. I went back today so I could pay the 1.50 that I owed, and also got a beef patty. It was fine, nothing amazing though.

The menu says they are not open on Sundays, but today (Sunday) they were open for some reason. There's a huge variety of little West Indian desserts and other specialty dishes (oxtail for example). Very friendly service. I'll be back.
