Singapore Old Town Cafe - Dublin

My coworkers and I had lunch here this past Friday. Its been open about a week and is in the new Ulfert Center in Dublin, which will also house Koi Garden (sister restaurant to Koi Palace).

The place was packed but we got a table after about 10 minutes. My two coworkers ordered Singapore noodles and Pad Thai respectively, while I ordered Satay Udon. There are about 20 items on the lunch menu, about half noodle dishes and half rice dishes, all in the $6.95 to $7.95 range.

While I can't speak to my coworkers' dishes - they said they were good, and certainly looked good, my Satay Udon, which was noodles with shrimp, pork, squid, in a subtle peanut sauce, was absolutely outstanding. The noodles had a wonderful texture, the shrimp perfectly cooked, and the sauce was amazing. All in all, the blend of ingredients will be having me crave this dish for some time to come.

About the service. Very well intended, but for now a little overwhelmed. Hopefully once they get a month or so under their belts, it will be smoother. One co-worker's lunch arrived, followed by mine about 10 minutes later, and my other co-worker's 10 minutes after that. They admitted that the last one had gotten mixed up and they comped it.

I'm looking forward to my next visit. YUM.
