Chinta Manis (mieaning "Sweet Love") is a newish Peranakan cafe which served up one of the meanest, melt-your-tongue, spicy-licious "Mee Siam" in Singapore. Rice noodles garnished with fresh shrimps, plump tofu cubes and hard-boiled egg, bathed in a tamarind-chilli-spice sauce. Definitely up there with some of the best Mee Siam I'd had in Singapore :-)
Dessert was "kueh dadar", a moist pandanus-flavored crepe rolled around moist dessicated coconut-brown sugar filling, and "kueh seri muka", pressed glutinous rice cake topped with coconut-pandan-egg custard.
